The influence of western street culture in China’s post 80’s generation and concept has not only become part of my upbringing, but has also become the theme and inspiration for my artistic creations. The art of Chinese ceramics makes me reflect on and explore the interactive relationship between ceramics – being a medium of traditional arts and crafts – and the lives of contemporary people, together with my own emotions. Therefore, when I convey the influence of street culture in the form of ceramics, I do not only wish to discuss the intercultural connections between the medium and its subject, but at the same time, I also intend to present great topics like the clash between China and the West; the contradiction between personal sensations and experiences; the process within the course of the journey of reconsideration and re-invention.
