Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal – Collection from Andy Warhol Museum and Gala Evening with the Friends of the Hong Kong Museum of Art

Venue: Special Exhibition Gallery and Contemporary Hong Kong Art Gallery, Hong Kong Museum of Art

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Andy Warhol’s death, the Andy Warhol Museum has organised this exhibition to bring the largest ever collection of his work to Asia. Visiting five cities across Asia from 2012 to 2014, the exhibition will take place at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. It comprising of about 700 objects from the Andy Warhol Museum, including paintings, drawings, photographs and screen prints by the forerunner of the American Pop Art Movement, as well as 330 archival objects and photographs documenting his life.

 

The Friends of The Hong Kong Museum of Art will be holding a Gala Fundraising Evening to celebrate the Museum’s 50th Anniversary on Friday, 14 December 2012. In support of the event and the museum, Schoeni Art Gallery donated a Screen Print of Chen Yu, entitled Untitled 2009 Series No.6. Funds raised in the gala will contribute to supporting the Friends of the Museum’s initiative towards the development of culture and arts in Hong Kong.
