Women In-Between: Asian Women Artists 1984 – 2012

Mongolian artist Munkhtsetseg Jalkhaajav (Mugi) who held a solo exhibition, entitled Earthbound, in Schoeni Art Gallery last May, is part of the first extensive exhibition in Japan on female artists. This traveling exhibition is composed of over 130 works by 48 female artists, reflecting on their experiences of social gender roles and positions as females, their awareness of female issues posed by daily life and their concerns with other social causes. This traveling exhibition was previously shown in other parts of Japan, including the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum in Okinawa and Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts in Tochigi.
